The 7 Types of Horror Fans
Assorted Flavors features listicles and other movie-related goodies.

Throughout my years of watching horror movies, I’ve seen many different ways that people interact with the genre. Here are what I've determined as the 7 types of horror fans.
1. “Absolutely Nots”
Will only see horror movies if they get tricked into it, and even then they will probably just walk out. Much respect to folks who know their limits and prioritize peace.
2. “Shudder Stalkers”
Always checking streaming services for the latest horror movies. Will watch anything that comes out—the good, the bad, and the ugly.
3. “31 Days of Halloween”
Cinephiles who reserve most of their horror viewing for October in observance of Halloween. Usually including a spattering of classics and recent releases.
4. “Serial Killer Docs & Pumpkin Spice”
Typically in the “Absolutely Not” category but still love a casual serial killer documentary with their morning coffee.
5. “I’ve Seen Some Shit”
Nurses, veterans, cops—these service members have encountered so many real-life horrors that they either don’t mind watching it or avoid anything traumatic while off-duty.
6. “Saw It At Telluride”
Have seen every short and feature film before you because they are regulars at every horror film festival and convention. They probably can’t wait to tell you about the filmmaker panel.
7. “Midnight Showing Crew”
Definitely want to check out the latest blockbuster horror movies in the theater, but preferably with a group (and a beer).
