  • The story doubling as a metaphor for Cruise’s place in Hollywood. “The end is inevitable, Maverick. Your kind is headed for extinction.” “Maybe so, sir. But not today.” Damn right not today. 

  • An action movie with real skies, planes, mountains, and people? Practical effects FTW. 

  • Mav and Rooster talking to Goose, healing old wounds, and winning the hearts of moviegoers around the world.

  • Every scene from start to finish playing like a friggin’ Greatest Hits album.
